چکیده

Purpose: Divergence insufficiency is characterized by esotropia at far distance with symptomatic diplopia, minimal or no deviation near distance, and full ocular duction version. We analyzed the results of bilateral lateral rectus (BLR) tucking in patients divergence insufficiency. Methods: Surgery was performed on persistent diplopia for least 6 months after onset. The surgical were evaluated BLR based maximum angle among all angles measured repeatedly, including prism adaptation test (PAT).Results: 24 included. average follow-up period 14 (1-48 months). deviations alternate cover before surgery 24.79 ± 8.15 diopter (PD) 15.45 9.30 PD distance. PAT revealed that, increased to 28.50 7.77 that 25.88 8.07 PD, but difference between two values fell less than 3 average. In (58%), followed-up up 1 year, we noted recurrence esotropia, overcorrection, exception one patient who developed distance. Conclusions: guided hour affords stable without overcorrection undercorrection

Bilateral lateral rectus resection in patients with residual esotropia.

Unilateral or bilateral lateral rectus resection is commonly performed for the correction of residual esotropia, but few results have been reported. Twenty-eight patients with residual esotropia underwent bilateral lateral rectus (BLR) resection. Six months after operation (n = 25), there were 17 (68%) successful cases, 7 (28%) cases of undercorrection, and 1 (4%) case of overcorrection. The su...

Long-term Surgical Outcomes of Augmented Bilateral Lateral Rectus Recession in Children With Intermittent Exotropia.

PURPOSE To compare the long-term surgical outcomes of augmented bilateral lateral rectus (LR) recession with original surgery. DESIGN Retrospective, nonrandomized clinical study. METHODS A total of 447 children with ≤35 prism diopters (PD) of basic and divergence excess-type intermittent exotropia, who underwent original bilateral LR recession based on the largest angle measured at distance...

Large bilateral lateral rectus recession in large angle divergence excess exotropia.

PURPOSE Classic teaching suggests that surgery for intermittent exotropia should be based on distance/near differences. True divergence excess exotropia should be treated with symmetric lateral rectus recession. The aim of this study was to investigate the effect of large bilateral lateral rectus (LR) recession in large-angle intermittent exotropia. METHODS Thirty-three consecutive patients w...

Bilateral lateral rectus recession in exotropic Duane syndrome with downshoot.

OBJECTIVE To report that maximum weakening of lateral rectus muscles can improve significant exotropia in primary position, abnormal head posture, retraction, narrowing of palpebral fissure and downshoot in exotropic duannes retraction syndrome. CASE A 12-year-old boy with exotropic Duane syndrome presented with downshoot and globe retraction in attempted adduction. Squint surgery was underta...
